- 20% In-class assessment and assignments
What does it mean?
40% Rehearsal Skills & Ensemble Skills development
Each student will receive a weekly rehearsal skills development grade based on the following:
40% Musical Performance
20% In-class assessments,projects and assignments
Over the course of the year various individual and group projects and/or assignments will occur in class. Grading expectations for each will be given at the time it is assigned. Students are expected to complete projects and participate actively during project work in class.
Final Exam = Final Project
Students will complete an End-of-Year Reflection and a group project that will count for their final exam grade.
Each student will receive a weekly rehearsal skills development grade based on the following:
- Preparedness with appropriate class materials (instrument, music, pencil, etc.)
- Maintaining an atmosphere of respect and cooperation
- Being actively engaged in the activities of class (performing, listening)
- Demonstration of proper warm-up techniques and styles
- Demonstration of good rehearsal skills and ensemble performance skills
40% Musical Performance
- Playing tests
- Small group lesson assignments
- Sight-reading and music reading skills
20% In-class assessments,projects and assignments
